Alissa & Brooks | Wychmere Beach Club | Cape Cod Wedding

Alissa & Brooks | Wychmere Beach Club | Cape Cod Wedding

Alissa & Brooks just celebrated their 2 month wedding anniversary!!!  It was such a beautiful wedding day, and so much fun to see Alissa’s family again!
(We photographed her sister Allison’s wedding on Martha’s Vineyard a couple of years ago). Alissa was an incredibly stunning bride, and Brooks, such a sweet & handsome groom. They had their wedding ceremony on the beach, officiated by Brook’s Grandfather. It was a very special ceremony.

After some family & wedding party photos on the beach, the party started in the Ocean Room, upstairs at Wychmere.
There was a little rain….followed by a perfect & beautiful rainbow, scroll down to see the incredible photos!  The sky turned magical at sunset, and we snuck away for more pretty photos! Alissa & Brooks had lots of good friends and dancers at their wedding!
The dance floor & the Eventz Booth were full of fun all night long!!!

From the Newlyweds:

  • Where & How did you meet:

We met at Quinnipiac University on September 7th, 2012, where we both attended college. We were friends at the time, but you know what they say, timing is everything. Over the next few years, we both found our way to New York City. A fortunate act of serendipity. On January 2nd, 2015, we met yet again and our friendship grew into the greatest love we have ever known.

I began a bucket list from traveling, to finding love, to fulfilling my own personal goals and dreams. On that list was to have a picnic in a sunflower field. Knowing we had an upcoming vacation to British Columbia, Brooks and his mother tracked down a farm in a city called Armstrong. Over the course of the summer, Brooks discovered that the farm he chose had belonged to his great grandmother, and that he visited her there as a child.

On September 7th, 2017, Brooks proposed to me in the middle of a sunflower field on this said farm and I said Yes! His parents, grandparents, and brother walked down the path to greet us followed by my parents who had flown over 3,000 miles to surprise me. We popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated our best moment yet with our loved ones.

  • Where do you live:
    New York City
  • What inspired you to have a Cape Cod wedding:
Ever since I can remember, my family and I have spent our summers and weekends in Cape Cod. My family has a Cape house in Pocasset and I brought Brooks there for the first time during Summer 2016. This is the summer we fell in love. For this reason, we were inspired to be married by the sea in one of the most beautiful and romantic venues that I have seen.
  • Why did you choose & What was your favorite thing about Wychmere for your wedding venue:
We chose to have our wedding at the Wychmere Beach Club because it was the perfect twist of beach chic and elegance. Our favorite thing about our venue was the astonishing views of the Nantucket Sound and how we were able to be wed on the beach with our toes in the sand.
  • Favorite memories of your wedding day:
Our entire wedding day was extraordinary. The moment when I was arm in arm with my father walking down the aisle and first saw Brooks smiling at me, looking so beyond handsome, is one of my greatest memories. The list goes on. We were lucky to have a ceremony full of sunshine, a sprinkle of rain, and a rainbow to add to a perfect evening.
  • Special touches / wedding day details:
A special touch to the reception room was the mantle design. We incorporated the initial of our last name to form a centerpiece for the Ocean Room and highlight our Head Table. The Wild Dahlia did an outstanding and awe-inspiring job on not only this piece, but all of the flower designs including the altar urns, bridal bouquet, and table arrangements.
Wedding colors,  bridesmaids dresses and flowers. Special wedding party gifts / favors:

Our wedding colors were blush and gold. My matron of honor was dressed in a Rose Gold Adrianna Papell beaded gown and my other bridesmaids were dressed in a Petal Pink Bill Levkoff gown. Our flowers complemented these colors and were a collection of ivory garden roses, cafe au lait dahlias, touches of astilbe, sweet pea, ranunculus, veronica, garden roses, distant drum roses, anthurium, spray roses, jasmine vine, and other coordinating blooms with whimsical greens.

Our party favors were milk chocolate and dark chocolate lobsters from Watson’s Candies, a local candy store in the town I grew up in. It was the sweetest touch to an amazing night.    #youmaykissliss
