Marta + Tom's Nantucket Engagement Photo Session | Smith Point Madaket + Brant Point - Shoreshotz Photography

I am so excited to share this Nantucket engagement session tonight! Jannelle and I took the ferry over in June to hang out with Marta and Tom….it was so much fun! They showed us all over the island, we had drinks, dinner, met Marta’s parents and brother and their pup! We watched an amazing sunset…..it was such a great day!

So, do you want to hear the best love story with 2 super sweet and gorgeous people?

Marta and Tom met in Watertown through mutual friends at a bday party and realized very quickly they had some mutual friends in common as well as a connection to Nantucket.

When Tom was growing up his family would go to Nantucket every summer. Marta grew up and went to school there, so it’s definitely the happy place they share and love to go to when they leave the city of Boston where they live now.

Tom’s Grandfather was a big fisherman (he loved going to Nantucket every summer, too!). Unfortunately, he passed away just before Tom proposed. However, as soon as Tom popped the question, at Smith Point, a fisherman caught a few fish right in front of them so it was like he was there with Marta and Tom! This was one of the beaches Toms family would fish at when they would visit the island growing up. So it was very special that Tom popped the question there…with Marta’s entire family (mom dad brother and dog) there and that we also got to capture sunset engagement photos there! On one of the trips to Nantucket, Toms mom (who is an artist), painted a landscape scene out at Jackson Point in Madaket which is where Marta’s family has kept their boat forever. So the first time Marta went to Toms parents house she saw a painting hanging in Toms room and knew immediately that it was Jackson point! It was extra special when she realized it was her Dads row boat, that they use to get out to their family boat, in the painting! Tom’s Mom had painted the boat belonging to Marta’s family. What a small world and sign for sure!

Tom and Marta now have the painting hanging above the bed at their home in Southie!

Just spending the day with these two you can see the love and friendship they share. They are so easy to be around, the day was all smiles and laughs. Sometimes you meet a couple and you just know they are exactly where they are supposed to be, together.

Marta and Tom will be married at one of my favorite Cape Cod Wedding Venues, the Popponesset Inn in September and I think I might be just as excited for their wedding as they are!!!!
