Here are some of my favorite photos from a true lifeguard love story. Congratulations to Erin & Josh, who celebrated their love with a Cape Cod wedding at the beautiful seaside venue, The Popponesset Inn. Be sure to scroll thru to read all about their love story.
From the newlyweds:
When was your wedding?
8/16/19
We met while working for Town of Barnstable many summers ago. Erin was a lifeguard and Josh was a supervisor at Kalmus beach. Over long games of catch and countless hours chatting in the lifeguard stand, Josh decided he wasn’t ready for the summer to end. Josh asked Erin out a date as they returned to Boston in the fall, and the rest is history!
After 8 years of love and laughter, living in Boston together and returning to the beach on the Cape as often as possible, we tied the knot this summer.
Popponesset offered the closest proximity to the water, while being an inside venue-because you never know what August is going to bring! It offers a classic coastal vibe while equally elegant. We had been to a wedding at Popponesset before and I fell in love with the venue, and knew that we would be getting married there. My favorite thing about the venue, besides their phenomenal staff, was the view. The panoramic ocean views are spectacular. The ocean offers an amazing backdrop for all aspects of the evening, and provided wonderful picture opportunities.
One memory that sticks out in particular is in between the photos on the beach and the introductions at the reception, Josh and I had a few minutes to ourselves in a private room. It allowed us to breathe for a moment, and take in everything that had happened. It allowed us to truly appreciate each other and slow the day down. That was special for us, to be able to share a few moments together in the midst of all the activity. Also of course, simply being surrounded by all of our friends and family, and feeling the love they have for us was so wonderful.
The invitations and table markers were created by the Pink Polka Dot in Falmouth. They were perfect, and captured a simple and beautiful hydrangea design.
Many of the other details were coordinated by my mom and sister! Such as painted buoys to hold the table numbers, and an “E & J” at the sweetheart able. We opted for guests to sign pieces of a Jenga game, rather than a guest book, to continue to use throughout our life together.
