The Club At New Seabury Cape Cod | September Wedding | Julia + Rob

The Club At New Seabury Cape Cod | September Wedding | Julia + Rob. I am SO excited to finally share Julia & Rob’s amazing September Cape Cod wedding at The Club At New Seabury!

The weekend forecast was not looking good with a hurricane predicted to hit the Cape. We were worried, but knew no matter what the weather that Julia & Rob were going to have an incredible wedding weekend. They are one of the most fun & loving couples, they definitely deserved the very best!!!

SeaCrest Beach Hotel was the setting for their rehearsal dinner, and as always, the sunset was amazing on Old Silver Beach. We were so excited to capture such beautiful photos, especially not knowing how the next day would be like for the wedding. Well, September 16 was even more perfect than the day before!!! We were able to do beach portraits both days, with barely any wind & perfect lighting.

It was truly the dream wedding weekend of the year, with the dream team of Cape Cod wedding professionals & we all had such a great time working together as always. Here are just a few of my favorite wedding photos. Scroll down to read all about Julia & Rob’s favorite memories of their Falmouth & New Seabury wedding weekend.

Wedding day memories from the Bride & Groom:

9/16/2023

In 2018 on Cinco de Mayo at 92 L Street in South Boston, a Yankee fan and a Red Sox fan met, but the rivalry couldn’t stop their connection. Julia offered Rob a pitcher of margaritas, and the rest was history.

They quickly bonded over how important family is to both of them from Day 1. As time passed, the two went on to enjoy weekends on the Cape with the Catos, weekends in Katonah with the Cavalieres, and summer holidays with the two families together. As much as the two love home, they also love to adventure together. Julia and Rob have traveled to places including Napa Valley, Turks & Caicos, Belize, Hawaii, Naples, FL and even to Cape Coral, FL where Rob, Julia, & Rob’s dad, Bob, enjoyed 3 months of sunshine & boating together.

It was in Kauai, Hawaii, up in the clouds of the Kalepa Ridge Trail, where Rob popped the question on what Julia declared “the best Super Bowl Sunday of her life” before she even knew what was about to happen. From that day forward, Rob and Julia have been excited to tie the knot in Cape Cod with all of their family & friends there to celebrate with them.

Rob lived on the Cape for a number of years while he was growing up, and his dad had a place in Hyannis when Rob and I first met, which we visited often when we first started dating and were getting to know each other. Some of our favorite memories are from that house in Hyannis, and our adventures while staying there including many date nights at our favorite restaurant Black Cat, some of the best beach days, and a few silly nights at Trader Ed’s.  Rob’s dad ultimately found a beautiful place on Sagamore Beach, where we have since spent as much of our time together as possible over the years.

Our ideal summer weekend (or week) is spent on the Cape with both of our families together, which we have been so lucky to make happen starting with Labor Day Weekend 2020, and every July 4th since.  Cape Cod is our happy place – rain or shine, summer or winter – because it is a place that we enjoy together, and most often, together with our families.

We had a good feeling about The Club at New Seabury before we even came to see it because good friends of ours got married at The Poppy in Sept 2021, and we had both agreed that that was our favorite wedding venue we had been to yet (and we have been to ~30 weddings together in just the last few years).  We loved the whole feel and location of the New Seabury community and we were so impressed by the food at that wedding at The Poppy.

When we found out that The Poppy had a sister venue which was a country clubhouse on a beautiful golf course which overlooked the ocean where the sun set, it almost seemed too good to be true.  We very much wanted a Cape Cod wedding – we both 1) love the Cape, and 2) love the beach in general – and Rob also loves to golf, and my family is a golfing family, so The Club at New Seabury was truly the best of all worlds for us.

When we got engaged in Feb 2022 and started reaching out to wedding venues on the Cape, it just so happened that The Club at New Seabury happened to be one of the venues that responded right away and had availability at the perfect time on the Saturday we were looking to come to the Cape to tour venues that spring.  When we got to the clubhouse in March of 2022 for our tour, we were so amazed with how beautiful the club was. We absolutely loved the look and feel of the front bar room, the beautiful & spacious hallway between the bar and the ballroom, the ballroom was the perfect size, ambiance, and finish for what we were looking for, and that big beautiful gazebo overlooking the golf course and the ocean was the icing on the cake!

The food was also phenomenal (which we knew from that Poppy wedding in Sept’21, and our tasting further affirmed that), and honestly above all, Jennifer Perry was the absolute MVP of the whole entire wedding planning experience and our wedding day/weekend overall.  I cannot even begin to explain how absolutely amazing Jennifer was throughout our entire planning process and most importantly the entire weekend when our big dayfinally arrived.  Another favorite thing about our venue (I could go on & on) was how much of a well-oiled machine The Club was at putting on the most beautiful weddings, and working so seamlessly with so many different wedding vendors on the Cape, particularly all of the ones we ended up choosing.  I could really go on & on.

Oh my gosh every single one – where do I even begin?!

– when Rob and I first sat down at the altar together during our ceremony after I had just walked down the aisle with my dad, and I turned to Rob with the happiest teariest face and mouthed to him that I couldn’t f***ing believe we were there (and then realized I shouldn’t have mouthed a curse word in church), but it was just the most surreal feeling that that moment had finally come, and I was just so giddy with excitement to marry him.

– when the priest pronounced us husband & wife, and we kissed, and then turned to our guests and pumped our fists in the air with excitement and the entire church erupted with cheers – we will never forget the volume & happiness of the cheers that broke out in that moment.

– when we first walked out onto the gazebo halfway through our cocktail hour, and the entire gazebo ERUPTED in cheers for us as we walked through the double doors outside – we were on cloud 9 in that moment (and the whole day) and have never felt so loved/special – it was just the best, most surreal feeling.

– cocktail hour on the gazebo with Joey Sax cranking out the BEST songs on the saxophone, all of our friends jumping up & down dancing and singing and laughing with drinks in hand, and the golden hour sunlight breaking through the clouds and absolutely lighting up the entire gazebo and golf course.

– our first dance was one of the best few moments of the whole entire day – picking our first dance song was actually the very first wedding detail we solidified within a month after we got engaged. Our song was “I Am Yours” by Andy Grammar, and it is just so special.  I was so nervous leading up to this dance because I’m not a great dancer (by any means) and the thought of dancing with 180+ people watching was incredibly nerve-wracking but in those moments while we danced together, it truly felt like the 2 of us were the only ones in that room – we were so locked in on each other, singing every word to each other, tearing up with happiness the entire time – it was one of the most special moments of the whole entire day and I will never forget how awesome that was.

– the trolley ride to the church sitting in the back in between my mom and my dad with all of my beautiful bridesmaids in the rows ahead of me, my favorite songs playing on the speakers – actually the first song they played was “goin to the chapel and we’re gonna get married” – and that was one of my favorite moments of the whole entire day. I will never forget how fun and exciting and surreal that was. I just kept looking at my parents saying “guys I’m getting married today. we are on the way to the church so that I can marry Rob” trying to process as I was saying it – again, so surreal, and the most exciting 20 minute bus-ride of my life 🙂

– honestly one of my favorite memories / feelings was when we got to the beach for photos – and we all got off the trolley and are walking onto the beach – and I was just absolutely giddy with excitement because 1) WE WERE MARRIED and 2) WE WERE ON THE BEACH ON OUR WEDDING DAY DESPITE THE FORECASTED HURRICANE!!!  I couldn’t believe it. And it was overcast but bright, with the slightest breeze but absolutely no gusty winds, and as we were taking pictures on that beach, the clouds in the sky started to streak with blue skies, and you could just tell the sun was on its way. I couldn’t stop freaking out with excitement the entire time.

– and I do need to say that some of my favorite memories throughout the entire day were the intimate moments Rob and I got together where Amanda was photographing us, and we were just having the best time together being our most genuine, happiest selves. No photo of the two of us that day honestly ever felt posed or staged for us – it was us having the best time with Amanda, and laughing and kissing and soaking in every minute together.

– the morning of getting ready fun with all of my girls – definitely a top memory of the day.

– my dad, my maid of honor (my sister), and Rob’s best man (his brother Tim)’s speeches – all were absolutely AMAZING and it was so so special getting to hear them in that room alongside all of our favorite people.

– the DANCE FLOOR – starting with when it opened early as “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” by Celine Dion played, which was technically supposed to be a dinner song, but I should have known better because it’s my best friend Sarah’s all-time favorite song which she loves to put on a good performance to… she grabbed her wooden table number and brought it to the dance floor, accompanied by 2 of Rob’s girl cousins and one of Rob’s best friend’s wife – all of who did not know each other – but the 4 of them belted out the lyrics and danced together as if they had known each other their whole lives, and slowly but surely the dance floor filled up as that song progressed DURING DINNER. It was the best – a proud moment to say the least. and then for the entire night from that point on, the dance floor was quite literally the dance floor of my dreams. it was absolutely packed with all of our favorite people from all stages of both of our lives – jumping and dancing and singing together – to all of our favorite songs. just a few highlights – Love Story by Taylor Swift (of course) & Man I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain – absolutely belted out every word with all of my girls around me, Shallow Remix, Mr. Brightside, all of the best songs played thanks to the great DJ Danny – I will never be over how amazing that dance floor was 🙂

– our head table consisted of our immediate family on either side of us – closest to us was my mom directly next to me, and Rob’s dad directly next to him. we decided to do this instead of having our large wedding party and significant others at a massive head table with us or having a sweetheart table where it would just be the 2 of us on an island. we loved the idea of having our immediate families closest to us because they are our #1, and this felt very special to us.

– during the father daughter dance, I danced with my dad for the first 2 minutes of the song, and then we had Rob, my mom, Rob’s dad and Julie (Rob’s dad’s fiancee) join us on the dance floor so that the 3 couples could dance together for the remainder of the song, which was very special for us as well.

– our place-cards on our guest tables were white scallop shells with everyone’s names written in gold cursive – handwritten by my Aunt Pam.

– we had a drink coaster at every place setting which said “please don’t take my drink, I’m dancing” so that our guests could put this coaster on top of their drink so that the wait staff wouldn’t clear it away – we thought this was an extra cute & fun detail idea.

– we ordered really cute beer & seltzer koozys (lilac purple and navy blue) on Etsy with “The Catos” and our wedding date on them and had them in baskets at the bars – they were all gone within the first 15 minutes of cocktail hour, and our friends and family still use them today!

– we rented tablecloths for the guest tables in the ballroom from PEAK because we loved the white & blue floral pattern tablecloths paired with white napkins, and we alternated those with white tablecloths and white & blue floral napkins every other table. we also had our amazing florist Nichole mix in a handful of tall floral arrangements on gold metal stands on some of our guest tables in the ballroom which created a multi-dimensional floral aesthetic which we loved.

– our cake was absolute perfection – thanks to Lisa of Delicious Desserts – it was the most beautiful 3-tiered classic & elegant white cake with a dot border and spatula lines and a cascade of the most beautiful purple fresh flowers courtesy of our incredible florist Nichole. Our cake was also 1/2 funfetti (my dream) and 1/2 chocolate (for our guests who like chocolate) with buttercream. Literal perfection!

– the flowers for our wedding were quite literally the flowers of my dreams. our florist – Nichole Parrott – is absolutely incredible at what she does, and I was and still am in complete awe over how beautiful every floral detail of our entire wedding weekend turned out – from our rehearsal dinner centerpieces, to my bridal bouquet, my bridesmaids’ bouquets, the flowers in the church, to every detail at The Club – Nichole, you are AMAZING, and I am forever grateful for you fulfilling my floral dreams!

Wedding party gifts –
