When was your wedding?
How did you meet?
We met in Newport, RI at a mutual friends birthday weekend. There was an instant connection. I thought he was the funniest guy I ever met. We both knew one day we would be husband and wife.
What inspired you to have a Newport wedding?
We always wanted our wedding to be on the water with boats going by in the background. I am a Cape Cod girl at heart, but it only felt right picking Newport as our wedding destination because that is where we first laid eyes on each other. It came full circle starting out next chapter of life there as well.
Why did you choose / What were some of your favorite things about OceanCliff Hotel in Newport?
As soon as we walked into OceanCliff we looked at each other and both knew this is where we would be getting married. It took seeing the gorgeous ballroom with the unreal view of the ocean, multiple fire places burning and very homey but also castle like feel to seal the deal. It is not your traditional Wedding Venue. You feel like a Princess as soon as you walk in. I loved having our bridal suit right upstairs for the morning of the wedding- Made the whole day feel seamless. I felt such a sense of ease the day we toured Ocean Cliff along with the wedding day.
What are some of your favorite memories of your wedding day?
The Entire day was so Magical. My favorite moment of the day was our first look. Being able to see Dave before walking down the isle was so special. I felt on top of the world in that moment. I was so Eagar and excited all morning to see him, and when we finally were reunited it felt like a fairytale. Even though we did a first look, walking down the aisle with my dad, towards my husband was pretty special too! The morning of , getting ready with all of my favorite girls was so much fun. They made me feel so relaxed and made sure I soaked in every minute of my day. I also loved dancing the night away with everyone!
What were some special touches / details for your wedding day? Please include your vendors for all of these details.
We loved having an assortment of flavored cupcakes for our guests. We got them from Wrights Dairy Farm. They were a big hit. I loved all of our signage. Especially our large mirror seating chart. It went so well with the elegant theme of the wedding. Signs were done by Petal & Ink. She was amazing to work with. On top of dancing with my dad, I also did a mother daughter dance, which was very special.
What were your wedding colors for bridesmaids dresses and flowers. Any special wedding party gifts / favors?
My bridesmaids wore a variation of velvet and satin dresses in the colors Dusty rose and Desert rose. My Maid of Honor wore a full sequin dress in color Rose Gold. Our Flowers were a combination of white and dusty rose. The arrangements were stunningly beautiful!
We did not give favors, but in lieu of favors we donated to Lupus Foundation of America in honor of my cousin who passed away last year after a long battle of Lupus and Scleroderma.
